Ah…..Predictions for 2011? Let me look into my crystal ball…..I see…..I see….The rich getting richer. The poor getting poorer. I see war mongers perpetuating senseless death and destruction all over the world in the name of religions that do not actually believe in killing. I see “liberals” in the United States crying in their imported beer because they couldn’t force nearly as much of their unwanted agenda on the American public as they had planned during their short-lived “supermajority”. I see the first year in about 30 without a nightly does of Larry King on TV. I see Gun control advocates using every excuse to try and prevent law-abiding Americans from exercising their right to own a gun. I see…I see…my view is getting pixilated…doggone it…must be raining again…..satellite always acts up when it rains…I see…the President losing popularity, but beginning to extend the proverbial olive branch to Republicans and make some key compromises to get things done.
Oh wait…all that stuff was in the news already wasn’t it? I must be watching Fox News. Sorry, I need to trade in that old analog crystal ball for a new flat screen digital model. Lemme fire up that old crystal ball again…
I see…a world that is still full of things humans can’t seem to get rid of …we will still have hate, and criminals, and power happy politicians. But you know what else I see? People are basically good if you let them be themselves. I see…people who need a little more understanding... I see a world full of good people, trying to raise their kids the best they know how, worrying how they will find their next meal. I see millions of parents worrying about whether there will even be a world for their children to inhabit 30 years from now. I see things getting better for lots of people, in lots of little ways to ensure the world will still exist 30 years from now. I see hope of a better day, soon. I see a few more jobs, and a few more ways to learn, and grow. I see those who are children now running the world in 30 years, with a little more peace, love, and understanding than we have now. All in all, I see 2011 being better than 2010.
