your worst vacation?

Worst vacation?  Can a vacation be bad? Really?  Think about it for a sec.  A Vacation is a getaway, right?  What are we getting away from?  The every day, right?  Our home, our job, our school, whatever.   So, as long as you are not at work, or school, or whatever you are “getting away” from, then your mission is accomplished, right?  OK, so maybe one vacation wasn’t as good as some of the others, or wasn’t as expected, but it was still a getaway, so how bad could it be?

OK, before you film buffs throw Deliverance in my face, or one of the similar vacation nightmare type films, just remember, that stuff is fiction, contrived to entertain in one manner or another.  It is not actual, factual, or even common, let alone true. And if you claim it is true for you, you re a moron.  No adult with an IQ higher than a monkey gets into those situations, or does the stupid things those people do to get out of those situations. If you are claiming a vacation like that happened to you, Go away.

To tell you the truth, I can count on one hand, (yep one hand), the number of times Mama and I have actually gone anywhere on vacation in the past 27 plus years.  It always seems like we are broke, or too busy, or something comes up, or some combination thereof.  We have come not to expect any sort of trip on our vacation time, and that is OK with us…most of the time.    So, worst vacation?  I can’t think of one that was so bad, and to have worst you need more than one that is bad, by definition.  To me, any Vacation is good.  I really am not interested in hearing horror stories from people who can afford to take off once or twice a year and spend thousands on recreation.

I see Vacations pretty much the way Richard Pryor saw female companionship. (I will have to paraphrase here, the idea is excellent, the original language was vulgar). “There aint no such thing as bad “female companionship” it’s just that some is better than others!!”  Yep, I’ll take my vacations where I can get ‘em, and enjoy all of ‘em.  Just some more than others.
